How to Manage MS Teams Users for Recording in Atmos (Add, Remove, Change)
When using Atmos to record Microsoft Teams calls using the Azure bot methodology, there are two methods to add, remove, and change recorded users in your organization:
- User management through security groups
- User management through manual input
We highly recommend using security group management, especially if your organization has a large number of users you need to record. This is because the security group management method allows you to efficiently administer user privileges and account changes through Active Directory without logging into Azure through PowerShell. Since many network administrators are well acquainted with managing users through Active Directory, the process of setting up groups for recording will be seamless and routine.
In some environments with small user numbers, manual entry is a viable means for user management.
To enable Atmos to record Microsoft Teams calls, you’ll first need to set up your Atmos Teams application and policy. To do this, you’ll need to access your Azure through PowerShell. To be sure, once Atmos is configured, you will no longer need to use PowerShell to manage your users.

Adding, removing, and editing users using security groups in Active Directory is agile, flexible, and widely used as a means of user management. It allows administrators to minimize data exposure risks by allowing global group changes and finely tuned access rights.
